Rotarians Tour Putnam General Hospital

November 18, 2009

The Rotary of Greene and Putnam counties were treated to an extensive tour of Putnam General Hospital, as one of Rotary's quarterly vocational outings.

"We were pleased to have the Rotarians visit and tour the departments of the hospital," said Darrell Oglesby, hospital administrator. "It is very important to us that the community knows of all the services that are offered here at the hospital. Educating the community on this hospital is our number one priority. We deliver on our promises and patient care and that is a testament to our staff and our community support."

After a meal served by the hospital cafeteria, The Café, the Rotarians were split into groups to tour the facilities departments and services including; the Sleep Center, swing bed program, in-patient rooms, physical therapy and cardiac rehab, radiology, surgery suites, emergency room, lab and information on the foundation and auxiliary.

"The tour of the hospital was so educational, " said Buddy Watts, rotary president. "The goal of our vocational visits are to be better educated on the organizations and services here in the community. Putnam General Hospital staff did an excellent job of presenting the hospital and it's services."
