Putnam General Hospital Gives Free Flu Shots to Ritz Employees
December 4, 2009
Putnam General Hospital was pleased to be in attendance of the 2009 Ritz-Carlton employee health fair. With several nurses available to the employees for glucose checks and blood pressure screenings, Putnam General was able to offer an extra bonus to employees this year, free flu shots.
Donated by the PGH Auxiliary, a volunteer organization with the purpose of serving the hospital and assisting in meeting the community need, 100 flu shots were donated to the health fair.
"We have been a part of the Ritz-Carlton's employee health fair for several years now," said Sheree McCommon, clinical coordinator for Putnam General. "This year the employees were thrilled that we provided them with free flu shots that usually cost anywhere from $25 to $35 at other places."
"It is important to us that our community stays healthy. We want to make sure to assist the community businesses and organizations in providing health screenings to their employees and volunteers," said Candice Mauldin, director of public relations and marketing. "It's just another way we strive to meet the community needs."
