Cardiac Rehab
Putnam General Hospital's Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase II program is fun, challenging, personalized and outcome oriented. It's based on the guidelines of the American Heart Association and serves our friends and neighbors of Putnam and surrounding counties.
What is Cardiac Rehab Phase II?




- Heart Attacks,
- heart conditions such as coronary artery disease, angina or heart failure,
-heart procedure surgeries including coronary artery bypass grafts, heart transplants or valve replacement,
- Coronary catheterization, including angioplasty (balloon angioplasty) and placement of stents.
How does it work?
Once the referral process is complete, a customized plan of care is developed specifically for you. It includes exercise that will start at a low pace on several machines such as a treadmill and recumbent bike. The length of time spent on each machine is determined by your heart rate and your ability. You'll learn about the role of nutrition, communication, medications, and stress in a healthy future and how to eliminate any key risk factors such as smoking. You and your doctor will receive progress reports regularly.
