PGH Auxiliary Donates for New Equipment

January 15 , 2010

The Putnam General Hospital Auxiliary has worked very hard in 2009 to raise funds to benefit Putnam General Hospital through the bake sales, fashion shows, soup luncheons, the gift shop, the Tour of Homes and the Love Lite Tree Ceremony. Thanks to their dedication and hard work, the Auxiliary presented a check to Putnam General Hospital for $11,400 to purchase new physical therapy items and a large scale for the hospital to weigh patients.

"2009 was a tough year financially for a lot of people," said Putnam General Hospital Auxiliary president Pat Henderson. "Despite the economy we were so proud of our volunteers and community showing their continued support of the hospital by attending and giving to our many fundraising events."

One of the most popular events provided by the Auxiliary are the Drive Thru Flu Shots given each fall. This year the Auxiliary was able to provide 900 free flu shots to the community.

Putnam General Hospital Auxiliary is a dedicated group of over 70 volunteers from the community who have provided over 20,000 volunteer hours. Each year the Auxiliary holds several events to raise money for the hospital. All funds by the Auxiliary are translated directly into patient care. The auxiliary also raises funds through the Pinafore Pocket Gift Shop located at the entrance of the hospital
