Drive Thru to Stop the Flu!

Information on flu shots, cold vs. flu, and prevention.

EATONTON, Ga. (October 1, 2013)- Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 19th-- one of the most important days of the fall season. Putnam General Hospital is holding its annual free flu shot drive. In an effort to keep you healthy and productive, the hospital will be administering 500 free flu vaccinations to the public. Starting at 8:00am at Putnam General Hospital, nurses will be giving "drive thru" flu shots. It's quick, it's easy, and best of all its free to the public compliments of the PGH Auxiliary.

PGH will be offering the vaccine to anyone ages 9 and up. Reservations are not needed, but each individual will need to have a filled out flu form with them. You can download the form at www.putnamgeneral.com, pick one up at the front desk of the hospital, or at one of your local banks. Transportation to the flu shot drive is available for senior citizens and the disabled by calling Putnam County Transit at 706-485-6355. Please call to schedule your pickup before 12 noon on Friday, October 21st. The price for a "round trip" ride is $4.00. Any questions about the Free Flu Shot Drive can be directed to Angela Dell, Director of Public Relations, at 706-485-2711, extension 2028.
