Putnam General Hospital Flu Season Visitation Restrictions
EATONTON, GA - January 23, 2015 - In response to the current increase in flu activity, Putnam General Hospital, Navicent Health Partner has implemented temporary visitation restrictions to protect its patients, visitors, hospital staff and the community.
Visitation restrictions are effective immediately and hospital administrators are asking that visitors cooperate with the following guidelines:
• Visitors must be age 12 or older.
• Individuals with flu-like symptoms and those who have recently had the flu are encouraged to remain at home and stay away from public areas, especially those where people are in close proximity.
• Individuals with cold symptoms, or other with immunocompromised health status, are encouraged not to visit the hospital for their own protection and that of seriously ill patients.
Administrators of Putnam General Hospital, Navicent Health Partner based the decision to restrict visitation on information from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the prevalence of influenza in the region at this time.
