2009 PGH Foundation Golf Tournament

July 20, 2009

Putnam General Hospital Foundation is gearing up for its 15th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament. This year's tournament is presented by Farmers & Merchants Bank and will be held at Long Shadow Golf Course at Madison Lake's on Monday September 21st. Last year's tournament raised over $30,000 to benefit Putnam General Hospital, and the Golf Committee hopes to do even better this year. With last year's funds, Putnam General was able to purchase new Bone Density and Digital Mammography equipment, making Putnam General the only 100% digital imaging hospital in the area. This year's funds will go towards new IV infusion pumps for administering medicine to patients.

This year's tournament offers players over $5,000 in prizes as well as a silent auction. The tournament is a Modified Oldsmobile Scramble format. The shotgun start will begin at 10:00 a.m. with lunch following play. Golfers may sign up in teams of 4 or as individuals and be paired off. Entry fees are $175 per player or $700 for a team of four.

Several of the sponsorship levels offer a free golf team as one of the benefits of sponsoring the tournament. Sponsorships range from a $100 Half Hole sponsor to a $2,500 Platinum sponsor. All sponsorships are tax-deductible and go to benefit Putnam General Hospital. This year's earnings will help the hospital purchase new medical equipment to continue in providing the best medical care in the area.
