Benefits

Putnam General Hospital's goal is to provide you with a program of benefits and services that are comprehensive and affordable.

Eligible employees and their dependents can choose from two medical plans through Secure Health Plans of Georgia*: Base and Premium. Both of these plans provide you with access to quality health coverage, including pharmacy and dental benefits.

Vision Insurance through Superior Vision is available to full-time employees. This plan allows you to save on everything from vision exams to contacts lenses to eyeglasses.

$15,000 Life Insurance is provided at no charge for full-time employees. $2,000 life insurance for dependents is also provided at no charge to the employee. Additional life insurance is available for purchase.

A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) reduces your taxable income for healthcare expenses. The money you set aside not only reduces your taxable income, but the funds are also nontaxable when you use them for qualified expenses. For 2024, employees can set aside up to $3,200.

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to employees and their families at no charge. The EAP is a confidential resource for work-life solutions, legal guidance, financial resources, online support and counseling.

Supplemental policies through Allstate are available and include Short-term Disability, Cancer, Accident, and Supplemental Health policies.

PGH offers full- and part-time employees working at least 20 hours per week the opportunity to participate in the 403(B) Retirement Plan administered by Lincoln Financial. There is no waiting period; you may enroll upon hire. The Hospital will match dollar for dollar on the first 2% and you will be vested in the employer contribution after one year of service.

A tuition reimbursement policy is in place to help employees progress in their current job and invest in continuing education. Full-time employees with at least six months' tenure are eligible. $2,500 in reimbursement is available per calendar year to be used toward preapproved, job-related tuition expenses.

Paid Time Off increases with service as follows:
17 Days with Zero to 5 years of service
22 Days with 6 to 10 years of service
25 Days with 11 to 20 years of service
27 Days with 21 or more years of service

Part-time employees working 40 hours or more in a pay period accrue PTOs at half the PTO rate of full-time employees.

30% discount on purchases in the Dining Room and free birthday meal.

Free annual physical (limited services) for full-time employees

And last but not least, you will find that the people at PGH are very friendly and family-oriented. Everyone is truly a team player and does their best to provide excellent patient care and customer service to all patients, visitors, and co-workers.
