The 19th Annual PGH Foundation Golf Tournament Results

EATONTON, GA - October 11, 2013 The Putnam General Hospital Foundation raised over $40,000 at their 19th Annual Golf Tournament held at Harbor Club on the 23rd of September. We were proud to once again have The Farmers and Merchants Bank as our presenting sponsor. The success of this tournament is attributed to generous sponsorship, enthusiastic golfers, silent auction donors and countless contributions of time and energy by committee members and volunteers. The committee this year was comprised of Jude Martinic, Angela Dell, Hal Huggins, Edge Farley, Mike Rountree, John Antoine, Derek Hudson, Hewell and Peggy Winn, Don Turney and Dr. Robert Betzel.

Prior to play, golfers enjoyed breakfast sponsored by McDonalds. During the awards ceremony, golfers were treated to a silent auction and a BBQ lunch provided by Putnam General Hospital's cafeteria. Congratulations to this year's winners. The men's winning team for low gross was Greg Hawkins, Chuck Little, Jay Dell and Rob McKelvey and low net was Matt Kirk, Jeff Lucus, Bryan Foy and Scotty Hurst. The ladies winning team for low gross was Mary Ellen Anton, Eve King, Una Dooley and Karen Flaig and low net was Wilma Gillian, Pat Hone, Tonya Gordon and Eudora Harrold.

The funds raised will go toward the purchase of a Cardiac Stress Exercise System. The system will allow for on-site exercise stress testing and is needed to expand Putnam General Hospital's non-invasive cardiac diagnostic imaging testing such as Stress Echo and Nuclear Stress testing. Putnam General Hospital's Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to support Putnam General Hospital and improve healthcare in the community through the purchase of medical equipment that will benefit patient care.
