Putnam General Hospital Welcomes New Surgeon

 

(Eatonton, October 14, 2009)- Dr. Michael Shotwell is Putnam General Hospital’s new full-time onsite surgeon.  Shotwell formerly of Villa Rica, opened his office next to PGH on September 1, answering a call to provide surgical care to the area.

              Shotwell will provide general surgery to the area specializing in colonoscopy, gallbladder removal, appendix removal, breast lump removal, skin lesions and skin cancer, hernia repair, endoscopy, vascular disease and much more. 

              “I am happy to be here,” said Dr .Shotwell.  “This is a good fit for me.  I get to do what I love and focus on my patients.”

              Shotwell’s services are provided by SuregonCare Physicians of Georgia.  SurgeonCare and Putnam General are now pioneers in defining how surgical services are provided to small communities. 

              The 39-year-old surgeon is joined with a nurse practitioner, Solange Marcel.
