PGH Foundation Donates New IV Infusion Pumps

 

EATONTON, Ga. (December 4, 2009)— The Putnam General Hospital Foundation has worked very hard this year to raise funds to benefit Putnam General Hospital through the 2009 Annual Golf Tournament.  Thanks to their dedication and hard work, the Foundation presented a check to Putnam General Hospital for $58,000 to purchase 20 new IV infusion pumps and software to be used throughout the hospital.  The Foundation chose this fundraising project for this year’s golf tournament earlier this year. 

"The outstanding financial success of this year's golf tournament is the direct result of cooperation between a concerned, caring community and a group of tireless, dedicated volunteers," said Putnam General Hospital Foundation president Dr. Robert Betzel.  "The funds generated by the tournament will be used to further Putnam General Hospital's mission to provide the best in patient care."

              The new IV infusion pumps promote patient safety by helping avoid in accidental under- or overdose.  The pumps are used to administer blood and drugs to patients during their time at the hospital. 

              Putnam General Hospital Foundation is a not-for-profit fundraising group that was started in 1999 to help purchase needed equipment for Putnam General Hospital.  The Foundation is led by President Dr. Robert Betzel and the golf committee by Hal Huggins.  Each year the Foundation hosts an annual golf tournament and works on several fund drives throughout the community.  They credit their success to the generosity of area residents and the worthy mission of helping our local hospital.
